“I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart” – Psalm. 138:1
Thank you very much! Thanks to the grace of God and your support, in March 2021 we reached our fundraising goal for the relocation and renovation of the Taipei Ignatian Spirituality Center.
Your generosity and assistance allows us to live out our mission: inviting people to encounter Christ, teaching Ignatian spirituality and prayer, forming new spiritual directors—and even more fundamentally—helping people to feel the love of God more deeply in their lives and to hear more clearly Christ’s voice. Together you and our team are living out this mission together.
Each benefactor is important to us. Without your prayer and financial support, we would not be able to serve our brothers and sisters locally and abroad. The spirituality centre team prays for you often. In addition, each month Fr. Elton Fernandes offers a Mass for benefactors, asking the Lord to especially bless you and your family.
In July of 2020, the spirituality centre moved to its new home. We have already begun to offer retreats and activities here. This new space includes a prayer room, meeting room, multi-purpose room, spiritual direction rooms, library and offices. Activity participants find these new environs provide a sense of warmth and comfort. Since this space is larger than the previous premises, it also allows our team to offer more activities. If you have not yet had a chance to visit us, come say hi and have a look around.
In 2021 we have begun to offer some new activities, for example, “from broken to whole retreat”, “non-violent communication and spirituality”, “the spirituality of work”, “creation and spirituality” and other programs. We are also forming 16 new spiritual directors. This year is a special year: 2021 is the 500-year anniversary of the conversion of St. Ignatius and so we are celebrating a jubilee. As a result, we are offering some special programs to celebrate, for instance, “Reflecting on the Life of St. Ignatius and My Life” and “Finding Meaning in Suffering Together with Jesus”.
The funds raised are now sufficient to cover the relocation and renovation costs of the new spirituality centre. We are grateful to you! If you desire to continue to walk with us on this journey, we welcome your support. Your donation will allow brothers and sisters with financial difficulties to participate in spiritual activities. Your offerings will also help us to cover the daily costs of operating the Center.
